Functional movement is my jam and Holistic Nutrition is my everything.
My passion is to help clients understand what their body needs nutritionally. Even more important, I make it my mission to help them understand why.
Food is powerful medicine. But, first, you have to know your body. Then, you can discover how to use food to optimize how your body functions for good.
It all started in 2013..
Throughout university, I juggled multiple jobs, worked out every day—sometimes twice—and quite literally, was pushing myself far too hard. I was obsessed with counting calories and tracking everything I ate, followed every diet trend I found on instagram and after a few years, found myself in the worst shape of my life. My metabolism crashed (due to metabolic adaptation) and energy levels plummeted (due to chronic stress and inflammation). My digestion was slower than ever and I started dealing with panic attacks (iykyk).
Fast forward to 2016..
I was referred to a Holistic Nutritionist by my Naturopath, and instead of paying for one (which would have been wayyyy quicker and cheaper) I decided why not just go to school to become one? I studied in kinesiology and took a few nutrition courses in university, how challenging could it be?
I decided to go all in on a one-year diploma at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.
At first my goal was to learn about gut health and the metabolism and fully help my own issues and maybe a couple friends or family members.
However, I ended up gaining deep and valuable information about every single body system, their sub-systems and their interconnections. I studied almost every diet you can name, learned about whole foods, allergies, food sensitivities, nutrient deficiencies, food combining, herbs, supplementations and so much more (You can say it was money well spent).
Fast Forward to today..
It quickly became clear I had both the opportunity and responsibility to share this knowledge and root-cause approach with others.
I’ve had the pleasure of helping 100’s of clients over the last 8 years with issues such as weight management, managing perimenopause and menopause, allergies, food sensitivites, candida, leaky gut, parasites, thyroid imbalances and more. Not to be a nerd, but It’s my actual fave.
